Facilities provided by Volans are typically portfolio secured lending arrangements. Borrowing to invest magnifies both gains and losses. Adverse market movements may reduce the value of collateral and increase the likelihood of a margin shortfall or loan default. Clients are responsible for ensuring they can meet their obligations under all facility terms and conditions.

Liquidity Risk

Markets may become illiquid during periods of volatility, limiting your ability to sell assets or access capital at expected values. Volans monitors collateral values and liquidity as markets move; however, we cannot guarantee that liquidity will always be available when required.

Currency Risk

Where facilities or investments are denominated in currencies other than your base currency, changes in exchange rates may impact portfolio values, collateral ratios, and borrowing costs. Clients are responsible for managing foreign exchange exposures.

Operational and Counterparty Risk

Despite strong governance and institutional-grade controls, operational risks — including system failure, cyber events, or third-party service disruption — may impact access to services. Volans partners only with regulated custodians and financial institutions, but we do not accept liability for losses arising from events beyond our control.

Regulatory and Legal Risk

Changes in law, regulation, or taxation may affect investment returns, facility terms, or the value of assets held. Volans continually monitors regulatory developments and will notify clients where relevant.

Volans does not guarantee the performance of any investment, the repayment of capital, or the return on any facility. All clients should carefully consider the risks, seek independent advice, and review all relevant documentation before entering into any transaction.
